MEET THE BOARD
Jacqueline DangPresidentYear: 3rd
Major: Biological Science Why did you join AFA?: I first decided to start AFA here at UCLA because of my grandpa who suffered from Alzheimer's and seeing first-hand with my family how this disease can cause so much pain.I wanted to help other families dealing with this disease and what better place than to start at my own university? I did my own research and came across AFA on Campus and realized this could be a great organization here at UCLA. It started as just an idea but now, with my executive board and staff, I hope to provide UCLA students with volunteer opportunities and show them how much of an impact we can create as a newly established organization. Who is your hero?: My grandma What song would you say best describes yourself? Why?: Surprise Yourself by Jack Garrett (GRYFFIN x Manila Killa Remix) because it's about taking chances and being bold and I never try to hold myself back or discourage myself because you should always try to be a better version of yourself everyday. What is your strongest attribute: I can be very empathetic and open-minded. I tend to view everyone's perspective in order to stay unbiased because everyone has a right to their own opinion. |

Major: Biological Science Why did you join AFA?: At first, Jackie was looking for another person to help her build the organization and I jokingly suggested that I could be apart of the executive board. But after seeing how passionate she was about the issues and stigma regarding Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, and realizing that i have not contributed much to my community since I came into college, I knew that I wanted to be apart of AFA and enhance the lives of senior citizens around me. Who is your hero?: My momma and papa What song would you say best describes yourself? Why?: Nobody's Perfect bc I'm not perfect but I work it XDDDDDDD What is your strongest attribute?: Determination |
