What we do
AFA on Campus is an organization under the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America that strives to raise awareness about the disease and groom tomorrow’s leaders in the Alzheimer’s community in college and university campuses across the country. AFA at UCLA aims to take these ideas and implement them in and beyond the UCLA campus.
Together, we endeavor to spread awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses by holding meetings that discuss such topics on campus and holding information sessions to spread awareness to the outside community. To continually provide relevant and useful information during events, we will create partnerships with other organizations and network with health professionals. By becoming familiar with the disease and gaining pertinent knowledge about how to care for those with the disease, we aim to create support networks for students coping with Alzheimer’s disease in their families and provide meaningful volunteer opportunities that benefit the Alzheimer’s community through participation in health sites and volunteering at clinics and senior homes.
